Paws

Our school mascot is a coyote.  This year our school got a traveling stuffed animal coyote named "Paws".  She is super adorable!  She gets to spend a week in each class and then she is passed to another classroom.  She has a journal that travels with her so the kids can write stories about her.  I decided to make Paws a photo album of her time in Art and Music class.

This is Paws cleaning up the Art room at the end of the day.
Paws and Bongo (the Music room elf on the shelf) playing jingle bells.
Paws loves to play keyboard and howl (Awhooo!)
Paws is practicing the recorder.
Paws loves to play the drums.
Paws is playing the xylophone.
Paws is looking up art projects.
Paws is learning to weave, it's harder than it looks.
Paws helps answer the phone.
Whoops, Paws spilled paint.  She grabs a sponge to clean up her mess.
Paws loves to paint. She painted a picture of a lion. She wear's Ms. Shook's apron to keep her fur clean.
Paws is playing in the 5th graders Chihuly sculpture.
Paws helps load the kiln.
Paws is helping cut yarn for third grade weavings.

We love seeing Paws around school! She is gaining all kinds of goodies from each class.

Superintendent Art Show 2015

Every year our county does a "Superintendent's Art Show" for all the elementary schools.  Each school  submits two pieces of art from each grade level.  They are then judged in three age groups; Kindergarten/1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade, 4th/5th grade.  They pick a first, second, third place winner and an honorable mention for each category.  Here are some of the pieces I submitted this year. I'll be putting up posts on each of these projects soon.  I'm glad I turned them in earlier this week since we were just hit with a snow storm!

Save Art Program

This year my school was chosen to receive donated supplies by the Save Art Program.  They even delivered them to school for us! Halfway through the year is the perfect time to get more supplies (since we've gone through quite a bit of them this year).  We also got some amazing pieces of artwork along with their donation. It was a great day!
